She was born Theresa Calia in Brooklyn on March 27, 1924, the daughter of Andrew Calia and Phillipa Buffa.
She married Louis Desiano.
They had two daughters and two sons. Theresa died on September 16, 2010. She is buried at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale, Florida.
