Catello LaMura
born October 14, 1867 in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy
died November 9, 1943 at 293 Union Street in Brooklyn, NY, age 76 years.

Father: Michele LaMura
Mother: Rosina Minozzi

Cause of death: Chronic Myocarditis

Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). It resembles a heart attack but coronary arteries are not blocked. It is most often due to infection by common viruses.

The consequences of myocarditis vary widely. It can cause a mild disease without any symptoms that resolves itself, or it may cause chest pain, heart failure, or sudden death.

Catello, the husband of the late Carmela Lanzaro (1869-1930), suffered from this illness for nearly three months before he died in his home at 293 Union Street in Brooklyn. He had moved to that address two years prior to his death, in 1941. His death certificate states his occupation was "manufacturer of carbonated water." He was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn.
