Unmarked grave of Giuseppe Lanzara and Petronella Lanzaro at Holy Cross Cemetery
Updated May 6, 2024
Photo taken October 1994
Located in the St. Michaels section of the cemetery, in Region Rg-62, plot 38.
Giuseppe (1836-1901) is buried in the unmarked plot to the left of the Mansfield headstone. There are several infants buried with him, but only one that I can identify as a direct relative.
That is Petronella (Patricia) Lanzaro (1903-1905), the baby daughter of Ciro and Louisa Lanzaro. The others are Carmine Cappiello, died 1901, age 18 months; Gregons Grosito, died 1904, age 9 months; Infant of Mrs Cappiello, died 1905, age unlisted; and Miles Ciost, died 1905, age 25 days.
Update - May 6, 2024 - I have been able to determine that Gregons Grosito is Gregorio Grossetto, the son of Frank and Josephine Grossetto, born November 17, 1903 and died July 21, 1904. Frank is the adopted son of Giuseppe and Petronella Lanzara. I have also determined that Miles Ciost is, in fact, Carmela Grossetto, the infant daughter of Frank and Josephine, born July 3, 1905 and died 15 (not 25) days later on July 18, 1905. She and her brother Gregorio were buried with Giuseppe.
