This is actually a painting of my great-grandfather, Giuseppe Lanzara, that I found in the attic of the family house in Morganville. Giuseppe died in Brooklyn in 1901
at the age of 65. I think he looks about 50 here, so I'm guessing the date is around 1885, which means it was done in Italy before he arrived here in 1892. Of course,
I could be completely wrong.
