She says her grandmother Alvina Schmidt Grothusen (1897-1970) is at the end of the line on the left, and Alvina's sister Helen Schmidt Gould Johnson (1912-1982) is in front of her. The scene may be that of a group of cross-country skiers. Note the man on the right foreground appears to be wearing skis, while the two people in the center foreground appear to be bending over, possibly donning or removing skis. Plus, the three people in the background on what seems to be a snow-covered field.
